A report was published by the Indian express; implication of that report was much effective. Sushma swaraj, minister of external affairs announced that our government will provide visa for medical emergency patients of PoK i.e. Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Pok is also an internal part of India just like other states; difference is this area is captured by Pakistan forcefully. She had made it official that from now onwards medical visa will be given to all the required patients of Pok area and no official letter would be required for it. The person because of whom this statement was declared is Osama Ali resident of Rawalakot.
He was suffering from liver cancer and got his treatment done in south delhi’s private hospital. Liver transplant was suggested by the doctors. But the family couldn’t afford to do the transplant in any of the foreign country. They want it done in India only due to its cheap fares. But Osama didn’t have permission of visa from Pakistan prime minister’s advisor on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz. He did not provide any letter to the Indian high commission exist in Islamabad i.e. capital of Pakistan. After this incident only sushma swaraj took this great step for the welfare of survivors of affected areas i.e. Pok. She provided the letter applicable on these conditions for the visas.
She wrote “Pok is also a part of india. It’s been illegally occupied by Pakistan. Government is giving him visa. There is no need of letter”. In an interaction with the Indian express Javed Naz Khan father of Osama and lawyer and worker in Pakistan Muslim league said that there was not any policy existed with Aziz Sahib to write any letter with respect to the incident. Secretary of south Asia desk had the responsibility to write the letter but still some of the visas were rejected on these same reasons by the Indian high commission. So he asked India to help his son by giving medical visa without any letter.
On 10th July in the line of tweets Sushma said her sympathies are with all the Pakistan nationals that are looking for medical visa in India. She knows that Sartaj Aziz also has love and respect for their nationals but then why is he hesitating in giving the recommendations to his own required people. India is considered one of the best all around the world with best medical infrastructure, doctors and specialists. It has now become a medical tourism destination.
